It was in the 60s and sunny yesterday in NJ so I took the boys to one of my favorite local hiking spots, Pyramid Mountain. I love Pyramid Mountain because there are lots of scalable rock formations for the boys to climb and explore. I love watching their little brains figure out routes up and down the mountain. It makes me smile when I see their confidence, care, and skill in navigating the rocky terrain of the mountain side and trails.
Will discovered a couple new “caves.” Lucas, ever the leader, headed the group that included my neighbor and friend John and Will and I. Lucey has become a pretty good trail runner and prefers to stay 50-75 yards ahead of everyone else. He hiked/ran almost the entire 2-2.5 mile loop. The highlight for Will was discovering an “eye rock.”

What a great day of hiking. I really enjoyed the pictures of Will and Lucas. They made my day!

Glad they did. We had a very fun day. They enjoyed Friday night too at Henry’s basketball game.
